Wellness Program Classes

We believe in the potential for physical, mental and emotional benefit through increased exercise and improved fitness. Our fitness classes are designed for people with Parkinson's and they are geared to help improve strength and maintain balance in a fun, relaxed environment with top instructors who are trained in Parkinson's. Classes include Pilates, Tai Chi, Yoga, the Alexander Technique and Nia: Movement and Music. The program also includes a support group for Parkinson's care partners. All classes take place at the JCC in Manhattan, located at 334 Amsterdam Avenue at 76th Street.

  

Pilates for Parkinson's

10 Mondays, Oct 5 - Dec 14 (except Oct 12)

This workout is designed to strengthen your core and sharpen your body sense.

Water Exercise for Parkinson's

$120 for all sessions

Increase flexibility and improve balance with gentle stretching and strengthening exercise in the JCC's unique warm-water training pool.

N.I.A. (Neuromuscular Intergrative Action) highlights the benefits of movement, music and sound.

Chair Exercise: Balance and Flexibility for Parkinson's

This chair based exercise clsss, which is set to music, will help to improve posture, reduce stiffness, and increase flexibility.

Yoga for Parkinson's

This yoga class will use floor, seated and standing poses to create strength, calm and balance. Using the breath, we will create a sense of calm and well-being.

Alexander Technique for Parkinson's

This two-part series will help you to move and breathe more easily in daily life.

Parkinson's Care Partner Support Group

Focusing specifically on the needs of those who partner in the care of a loved one with Parkinson's, this group will provide support in a relaxed environment.
